If you are not in Kraków for the first time and already know the Old Town walking tour by heart, then I would recommend dropping into the Princes Czartoryski Museum for an hour or an hour and a half.

The Czartoryski Museum in Kraków is cosy, intimate, and I would even call it boutique in style. It was founded by Izabela Czartoryska in 1878. Today, it belongs to the Princes Czartoryski Foundation and is a branch of the National Museum in Kraków.

The museum houses works of European painting from the 13th to the 18th centuries, as well as decorative and applied art, and military objects dating from the Middle Ages to the 19th century.

The jewel of the collection is “Lady with an Ermine” by Leonardo da Vinci, painted in 1490.

It also features Rembrandt’s landscape “Landscape with the Good Samaritan”, from 1636,

as well as drawings by the French artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir.

The museum is interesting for both adults and children.
For boys, there are fascinating halls with antique equipment for knights and their war horses.
For girls, there are real dresses of Polish princesses, painted fans, and Chinese porcelain.

FREE ENTRY for everyone without exception — every Tuesday, on presentation of a passport, simply at the museum ticket desk.
