Sato Hotel 4* is located at the very start of the Sutomore resort area. From the outside it still looks like a Soviet-era sanatorium, but inside it’s designed very stylishly. The hotel is ideal for active travellers - you step straight out onto the promenade lined with cafés and small shops — and it also suits guests who aren’t too fussy.
There’s plenty to do in the evenings: the promenade and all essential facilities are right nearby.
The hotel was renovated in 2013. Overall, the conditions are fine, but there are some visible flaws here and there — for example, plaster has chipped away around some sockets. A light refresh in the corridors wouldn’t hurt. The reception and lobby area, however, is very pleasant and well-designed.
Board basis: HB (half board).
There’s a nice restaurant on the ground floor, plus an à la carte option on the terrace, with live music in the evenings.
The hotel owner’s son is an artist, so you’ll see lots of paintings around the hotel (some of them are genuinely interesting).
The hotel has its own beach, though the entry into the sea is pebbly/rocky (at the time of filming, they were tidying the beach up).
Parking is paid: €20 per day.
There’s a panoramic pool on the second floor, and it’s convenient because the spa centre is right next to it: saunas, a jacuzzi and a gym. There’s also a kids’ room nearby, which is handy for families.
